Hello Friends

Today I'd like to give you a method to backup your Samsung Device (Smart Phone/Tablet) Contacts into PC & then if you want to, to Bluestacks, which will be helpful for apps like "Whatsapp" & "Viber" for Bluestacks.

The formats, in which you can Backup your Contacts are- .sqb, .vcf (VCard) & .csv.

Why I've used the keyword "Samsung" is that Backing up of Contacts, is applicable for Samsung Smart Phones only. If you have any other methods to backup your contacts, in vcard format (.vcard/.vcf), for any phone (not just Samsung). You can still import them to Bluestacks.

The benefit of importing Contacts is that, then you can use those contacts in Bluestacks for apps like "Whatsapp" & "Viber", which require a Smart Phone & an Internet Connection.

But Bluestacks doesn't require you to have a Smart Phone to run "Whatsapp" & "Viber".

USES OF THIS METHOD

As you know, by importing contacts to Bluestacks for PC, you'll be able to have them for apps like "Whatapp" & "Viber" for Bluestacks only.

This method may also help you to backup your Smart Phone Contacts to PC, for securing & backing up all the hard work, you do to make your phone contacts list.

This way will also help you transfer Contacts from One Samsung Smart Device to another, using a PC.

OR You can use it for any other use you want!

PRE-REQUISITES

There are some necessary Pre-requirements for this method to work, here they are:

1. Bluestacks for PC

Note: Bluestacks will be required only if you want to import Contacts to Bluestacks for PC, otherwise not.

Of-course you'll need to have Bluiestacks installed on your PC, to import contacts into it. Here, I've given a post about installing Bluestacks:

Here's the link to download Bluestacks for PC:

2. Samsung Kies for PC

Samsung Kies is the samsung support software, which helps you have various kinds of links between you Smart Phone & PC, including backing up Contacts, Pictures, Music, Videos, Memo etc.

We will require it to backup our contacts.

It is available, both on Windows & Mac/Macintosh.

Along with your Samsung Smart Phone or Tablet, you must have got a Disc for installation of Samsung Kies, on your PC. Install Samsung Kies from that particular disc.

If you've lost/Damaged the disc or haven't got it, don't worry! Here's the download link for Samsung Kies:

ABOUT 66 MB (Windows) 28 MB (Macintosh/Mac)

If the above link stops working, just Google for Samsung Kies & get it.

Note: If it notifies you to update Kies, don't worry! Older Versions of Samsung Kies also support this method. So Update is not utterly required.

THE METHOD

Backup your contacts

So first, to backup your contacts to the PC, for saving your hardwork is here. This is only applicable for Samsung Smart Phones (including Android & others too!)

1. Attach your mobile with PC, using a data cable, which is the easiest method.

2. Open Samsung Kies on your PC, which was previously downloaded.

3. Search for an Import/Export option, the location of the options may differ in different versions of Samsung Kies.
Mine is version 2.2.0.12014. Here's it's screenshot:

4. Then use the option of exporting contacts to PC, which is clear from an image where arrow is going out of  mobile.

5. Simply click on Export option, after Contacts. You can also backup your Memo & Schedules, if you want to.

6. After about 30 seconds, you get a dialog box, allowing you to select the location, where you want to save your contacts, do it & use the following options for the "Save As Type" accordingly.

If you want to Just Backup Contacts (not for importing to Bluestacks)

Simply use Save As Type- .sqb. which will give you one file, where your contacts have been backed up.

Now you can import your backed up contacts at any time, in case your Phone Contacts have been been lost  or you want to transfer your contacts to another Samsung Device/Phone. For that:

Connect the required Samsung Device, again visit the Import/Export option. But this time, instead of Arrow out of Phone Image, select Arrow into Phone image.

And follow the upcoming instructions (it's not tough!).

If you want to import Contacts to Bluestacks

Now, if you want to import Contacts to Bluestacks Android App Player for PC, which helps you run Android Apps on PC.

This way should be used only for transferring contacts to Bluestacks, or if you need VCard files. For Backup purposes, use the method given prior to this, "If you want to Just Backup Contacts (not for importing to Bluestacks)."

Simply use the Save As Type- .vcf (vcard files), which will save contacts into numerous files.

Note: Since files are large in number, it is recommended to use Save Files Location as an empty folder.

Importing Contacts to Bluestacks

Now that we have our Contacts Backed up in Vcard files, we'll have to get them into Bluestacks. To do it, follow the post below, where I've given the method:
